President Melanie Leslie, Vice-President Laurie Ungaro and Executive Director Sandy Wade joined the hundreds of representatives from 60+ Community Foundations across BC at the BC Connect Conference in Kelowna from September 15 to 17, 2026 hosted by the Vancouver Foundation. The Community Foundations of Canada team loved facilitating the sessions, reconnecting with familiar faces and meeting new people from across the network. Conversations explored everything from governance and regulatory change to AI, technology and impact investing – with some of the richest exchanges happening simply through being together in person. There were multiple sessions of interest to the Phoenix Foundation over the three days and directors came away with amazing new ideas and information to Build a Better Boundary.
